Dermal Fillers: Five of Our Options

dermal fillers

When it comes to the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, it’s hard to beat dermal fillers. These injectable products come in the form of a gel that flows easily under the surface of your skin to promote increased facial skin thickness and turn back the clock on aging, wrinkled skin.

One of the key advantages to undergoing a dermal filler treatment is its ability to significantly enhance the appearance of your skin without the need for surgery. The minimally-invasive aspect of the treatment means that treatments are simple and convenient. The process leads to significant results with little to no downtime. Below are five of the dermal fillers our clinic offers.

Restylane®

Restylane® is the brand name of a dermal filler that consists of a gel containing something called hyaluronic acid. This naturally-occurring substance can decline with age or sun exposure. Once the product is injected into your skin, the gel draws a tremendous amount of moisture to the area, thickening it and minimizing any existing lines and wrinkles.

Juvederm®

Juvederm® is the brand name of another hyaluronic acid dermal filler. The main difference is that Juvederm® is formulated with an extra ingredient called lidocaine. This helps to ensure your comfort throughout your procedure. Juvederm® can help promote enhanced skin thickness and smooth away fine lines and wrinkles.

Voluma®

Voluma® is another hyaluronic acid-based filler that supplies the cheeks with greater volume and fullness. Each session takes just minutes to complete.

Perlane®

Perlane® is yet another hyaluronic acid-based filler that differs from alternatives in terms of gel particle size and depth of injection. Perlane® particles are larger.

Sculptra®

Sculptra® is a special type of dermal filler consisting of synthetically produced polylactic acid, which is similar to the lactic acid your muscles produce when you exercise. Instead of filling in hollowed areas itself, Sculptra® works by stimulating your body’s innate production of collagen.

If you feel you would benefit from a treatment with dermal fillers, schedule a consultation with Worcester Dermatology Associates or Chelmsford Dermatology Associates. Our staff will gladly discuss the benefits of each individual product and help you decide if this is the path for you. Our offices are conveniently located in Worcester and Chelmsford.
