What is Perlane®?
Part of the Restylane® family of dermal fillers, Perlane® is an injectable hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. This treatment is better suited to treat deeper set wrinkles and fine lines than other Restylane® products. Over three clinical studies, it was found that 63%, 71%, and 75% of patients maintained improvements in the appearance of their deep wrinkles for six months after a single Perlane® treatment.
How Does it Work?
Perlane® operates in the same basic way that other Restylane® products do; it uses a hyaluronic acid-based gel to attract water molecules that infuse wrinkles and fine lines with added volume and moisture. What makes Perlane® different from these other products is the average size of each gel particle and the depth of injection. Unlike Restylane®, Perlane® is injected into the deep dermis. And because the average particle size is larger, this gel is better able to fill in larger areas of loose or wrinkled skin.
