Worcester Dermatology Associates – Chelmsford Dermatology Associates

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month

What can we do?
1. Tanning beds are bad but especially for young adults as the radiation that they are exposed to has more time to cause harm.
2. Be aggressive with sun protection but enjoy the nice weather because New England has a very short nice season and a wicked long winter.
Use broad spectrum sunscreen to all exposed areas (don’t forget your ears and lips)
Cover up where possible-long sleeve t-shirts work great when swimming and golfers need hats
3. Examine your skin regularly and if something looks funny get it checked (no pimple lasts for months or spontaneously bleeds)

Have a great summer!
